“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” — Christopher Robin

The United Nations General Assembly declared July 30th to be the International Day of Friendship.

Nane Annan, wife of the former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, named Winnie the Pooh as the world’s Ambassador of Friendship.

What an inspired and charming choice.

Putting aside the commercialization of the brand, the ethos of Winnie the Pooh was and is one of love and friendship.

The philosophy is simple “you don’t spell love, you feel it.” And that is what Ripple Effect Gifts is all about.

Each and every day all team members start our working day by consciously connecting to our own philosophy:

In this way we stay connected to what drives us, our values and with the integrity upon which our business is based.

The phrase ‘pebble in the pond’ is well known and well used. The Dalai Lama himself stated:

Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects.” Ripple

Ripple Effect Gifts is not simply a hamper company. Although we do pride ourselves on our selection of locally sourced wine, beer and cider. As well as our extensive range of tea, coffee, chocolates, candles, skin care, baby and pamper products. We actively support local businesses and believe in making heartfelt connections with our customers and suppliers.

As Winnie the Pooh said:

“You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.”

Pooh bear’s philosophy was not only one of love and friendship. It was also about humility. His wisdom guides us to remember that we have a responsibility to step out of our comfort zones, to take an active part in our communities and to seek out opportunities to connect with and respect others. And that is what we aspire to each and every day.
